Dehydration during pregnancy causing lower abdominal pain???

I am 21 weeks pregnant. Earlyer I went to the ER, with extreme abdominal pain (felt like period cramps). I was hooked to fetal moniters, given an exam to see if I had dialated, and a urine sample was taken.

The babys heart beat was fine, I had not dialated. All of these tests were performed by a RN, she also informed me that my urine was “perfect”. There was no OB doctor in the hospital, and the RN paged the doctor for further instrucitons. After 3 pages and 1 phone call, the doctor had not called back. Finally, the doc called, the nurse came back in, and told me that the doc said I was “Probably dehydrated, causing my abdominal pain” also to “go home and rest, and no intercourse.”

So, my question is, if my urine was “perfect” how could a diagnosis of dehydration be given? I have experienced cramping during my pregnancy, and none of the other spells have come close to this one. I say this because I felt that something was really wrong.

Any suggestions? Ever heard of this?

i would go back and ask to be hooked up to an IV of saline to rehydrate you, I did this all the time for some reason with my first and they had me in their 3-4hrs on a drip and i would pee a few times and they sent me home i was OK again, make them you know what you need!
