abdominal pain tight pants
I have Upper right abdominal pain on ribs. Any ideas?
I have a pain in my upper right abdominal wall (it feels like it is directly under or on my lowest two ribs). I have been to the doctors, and they ruled out gall stones, pancreas problems, and liver problems (I had blood work, an x-ray, and an ultrasound). I was diagnosed with costochondritis, which is an inflammation of the cartilage between the ribs and sternum. The pain is worsened when I am wearing fitted pants that are slightly tight. I am 40 lbs overweight, my BMI is 32.5, and my bad cholesterol is slightly high but my doctor has no concerns. The pain feels a lot better when I lean back. It will go away for a few days and return. I almost always start getting the pain while I am at work (I am an accountant, and work at a desk pretty much the whole day). Any suggestions or ideas on what this is would be very helpful.
did you have a hida-scan? This is a nuclear test. I had the same problem and they ruled out gallstones. Well they in a sense were right I didn’t have gallstones, I had a polyp in my gallbladder that was not visible on the normal test. this polyp would like sink and block the duct if I was sitting or standing the only relief I got was lying down. (this allowed the polyp to move and the bile to empty. anyway this hida-scan showed my gallbladder was only operating at 10%. Immediate surgery.. all better.
