Could this be herpes?
I had unprotected vaginal sex 16 days ago. I’m waiting to go to the doctor but I’m paranoid and have posted a few questions with new updates. I have a vaginal itch that seems to be getting better as time progresses, no unusual discharge and I have not seen any blisters or sores. I haven’t experienced any flu-like symptoms, but I have noticed an increased need to urinate and have some lower abdominal pain (I am expecting my period tomorrow). Is there such a thing as your first herpes outbreak being just an itch with no other symptoms? Sometimes it hurts a little urinate, but that’s it in addition to the itch…
Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Also, could swollen glands be glands in your neck? If so, how can you tell your glands are swollen, because my neck just started to hurt a bit on the left side…
When you’re afraid of things like this, you tend to invent symptoms. To me, it sounds like maybe a UTI, or a bladder infection which can be caused by sex (it does with me, if I don’t take other precautions beforehand) and would cause painful urination and an increased urge to urinate. I wouldn’t panic, and would definitely go to the doctor. If an STD is eliminated, then see about getting a urine test. If it is a UTI, some antibiotics and lots of water will clear it up.
