How soon can an ultrasound detect a pregnancy?
Well, yesterday I went to the hospital for upper abdominal pain, and I knew I was pregnant, but didnt know how far along, based on my LMP I would be due around June 20th (6 weeks pregnant) but i didnt have unprotected sex until October 12 so if i concieved on that day then i would be right around 4 weeks. My HcG levels were only 118 and they didnt see anything via ultasound, they said that they cannot completely rule out an ectopic pregnancy but they didnt seem very concerned, I am making a followup appt with my OB within the next few days but if I am only 4 weeks is it possible its just too small to see? also they did a trans vaginal ultrasound and a normal ultra sound. any advice would be appreciated. thanks!
if you not sure of the dates the dr can organise a date scan ( which is about $200) it can be done as early as 6 weeks
my cousin just had this done at 7 weeks.
