What is going on? Gas/bloating/gurgling in stomach/cramps? Yet chest pain is going away?

I’ve had chest pains for around 2 years now, unsure of cause. I had ECG’s and Chest-pains. I thought it was due to GERD. Anyway, I took a ACID REDUCER and felt a bit better though there were still some pains. I also stopped sleeping on my stomach and propped my bed up, like you’re supposed to with GERD. I got sick the next morning but thought it was bad pasta I ate. Next day I got REALLY BAD GAS. I ate very litltle because I felt cramped (maybe due to gas.) Today I ate a bagel, apple juice, and granola bar (not much) and I felt very cramped and had stomach pains, but they went away. I passed out and slept for a long time and now I feel a lot better, but still slightly full. I still have gas.

Anyway, one thing though is that my chest pain (I’m not taking anymore meds) seemes reduced by a significant amount. It feels better than when I was taking the medicine. WHAT GIVES? What is up?

If you’re having trouble with indigestion, heartburn, and GERD I’m wondering if the pasta you ate had garlic and tomato sauce on it – both are very rough on an upset tummy. Have you seen a gastroenterolgist? That’s recommended for a definitive diagnosis. If you do have GERD you should be on an acid reducer on a daily basis (this can lead to B12 deficiency however), watch your diet, and keep the bed elevated, as well as not sleeping on your stomach. If you are overweight, lose the extra pounds. You may also need antacids on a prn basis. However, you could be having some dietary intolerance, gallbladder problems, might have H. pylori, pancreatic or liver problems – that’s why you need to see a doctor.
