lower abdominal pain waves
Lower abdominal pain, any idea what it could be?
I am having lower abdominal pain for about 2 hours now. It seems to get worse as time goes, but seems to come in waves. The pain is almost like an extreme menstrual cramp, but I had my period a week ago and I am on birth control. This morning I got the extreme pain but only for a second and it went away. I get the pain every now and then but only for a second, and usually it is right before I go to the bathroom. I think it is intestinal pain and I may just need to go to the bathroom, but I don’t need to. Also, every once in a while i hear my stomach gargle, but I did just eat. Could it be serious or is it just gas?
You should go directly to the Emergency Room.
1. Could it be your appendix?
2. Could it be diverticulitis? (Inflammation of the large bowel)
3. Could it be your ovaries?
Instead of guessing it’s best to go to the E.R. and let the physicians order blood work, an HCG; abdominal ultra sound, abdominal xrays (KUB) Kidneys, Ueters and Bladder and a CAT scan of your abdomen with oral and IV contrast. Good luck to you.
