Can you become addicted to oranges?

I have some GI issues and severe upper right side . I crave oranges all the time and can eat up to 20 oranges a day. Sometimes it is the only food I can keep down for days. Can anyone help me? PS I am being followed for the other issues by several specialists. I also have an appointment in a few days with my GP to talk about this and other issues.
Thanks James.. I will look into that.. no one has ever brought up gluten intolerance… I will definitely check that out!!

Physically addicted? no….psychologically addicted? yes

That much citric acid isn’t good for you and your digestive system…you need nurishment, and oranges are nothing more than water, acid, and sugar.

There are hundreds of types of grains and beans out there, plenty of fruits and vegetables…. experiment…oranges may be within your ‘comfort zone’ but there is other stuff out there that is more nourishing, and will work, just a matter of finding it….your situation actually sounds alot like my cousins, she was seeing all kinds of doctors for digestive issues that were just steamrolling, having difficulty keeping food down, and also was eating very acidic food when she was eating….recently found out @ 19 years old, that she’s had a gluten intolerance her whole life….she’s been on a gluten free diet for a couple months now and it’s working miracles.

know it’s a longshot, more of a guess than a hunch, but acid does break down protein….which is what gluten is….people with gluten intolerance can’t fully digest gluten…..just wondering if you’ve looked into gluten intolerance as a possible issue.
