im scared could it be colon cancer?

im 24 year old and i ‘ve been constipated for a week with a little spotting of blood. i took a laxative two days ago , and it was working fine, but then the next day i was constipated again. a month ago i had an endoscopy , they found a hatial hernia , gastritis. about 2 weeks ago i had a chest x ray for chest pain and they didn’t find anything wrong. my doctor gave me a blood test, urine test and a pap smear ,and she said everything came back normal. ive been having lower abdominal pain.my doctor schedule me for a colonoscopy for november 12 ,im really scared.

Don’t worry! I’m 26 and had to undergo an endoscopy and a colonoscopy due to the exact same thing. What they found were several internal hemorrhoids, but nothing else. Gross I know But it’s the nature of the beast. The fact that you were constipated probably just means you were straining too hard and the lining of your colon was disrupted. It’s very thin and sensitive. If it was colon cancer, you would notice blood covering the entire stool or it would be black and/or a tar-like substance. However, thank goodness you’re going in on November 12th for the procedure. And I wish you all the luck in the world. I’m positive you will be ok and have nothing to worry about. You are so young and odds of developing colon cancer are very slim. There are a number of things that could also be causing your spotting and discomfort such as digestive disorders like IBS (more likely than the others), colitis or krohn’s disease. I’m sorry this is so lengthy, but I know exactly how you feel and what you’re going through.
