Do I have pinworms because I drank Mexican tap water??

I got back from southern Mexico two weeks ago. I spent a good deal of time in Mexico City as well. While there, I ignorantly drank about a liter of tap water. Many people told me that this would screw me over, but I didn’t believe them. Now, back home, I am having most of the symptoms of a parasitistic infestation (including irritability, constipation, upper abdominal pain, itching of the anus, and weakness are the symptoms that come to mind.) And there are little white stringy things in my stool. Im pretty sure I have some kind of worms, but what I’m really asking is if it is probable that I would get worms as a result of drinking Mexican tap water. Could this be the cause??

lol!! well I dont know if this is the case or not. I spent a lot of time in mexico. I was there as an international student to improve my spanish. I ate all kinds of food and drank tap water and never got sick. i was there for about 4 months.
