can acid reflux disease cause SEVERE stomach pain?

just had an upper GI, and was told i had acid reflux disease, but i took test to find out why the severe stomach pain and shakiness (was shaking so bad i could not write my name) also lightheaded and have lost 16 pounds in last 2 months, i think there is more to it than acid reflux, and ideas?

When I had the upper GI and they said I had acid reflux, I thought they had missed something as well.
My symptoms were not extreme pain in my stomach, it was extreme pain in my chest. I described it that I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest.
I would get extremely lightheaded, and found that If I took a RELOCOR (Can be bought in a drug store without a prescription) and if I would lay on the floor I would feel better in a short while. I am not a doctor, and I have no idea if it would work for you, but when the pain was really intense, it helped.
I gather that you can have some really strange symptoms when you have acid reflux. I am now on Nexium, but I can not say I am happy with it. I am still experiencing an inability to eat somethings I really like (I can not drink coffee anymore, I’ve become a big tea drinker…especially green tea). However, my biggest problem seems to be a tremendous amount of gas. I am presently looking for a healthy substitute for Nexium.
