stomach pain mucus stool
please help! Scared…and not sure-ibs or…?
recently i was prescribed an antibiotic called Clindamycin for a root cananl infection. I have IBS. I have finished the medication but there was a warning on it that read this: “this medication may cause severe (rarely fatal) intestinal condition due to a type of resistant bacteria. This condition may occur during treatment or weeks to months after treatment has stopped. Tell your Doctor immediately if you develop persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain/cramping, or blood/mucus in your stool.”
Now, symptoms of IBS are the exact same (minus the blood in stool part) and I am feeling really really crampy and icky with diarrhea today. How can I tell the difference between regualr IBS and this condition from the medication???
PLEASE , PLEASE help…my Doc is unreachable at the moment.
I don’t think you can tell if it’s IBS or something caused by the meds. If your symptoms get worse, by all means, go to the ER.
