Shooting pain on right side only.21 weeks pregnant.What is it?

I’ve been having this pain for a couple of weeks now. I am going to tell my doctor about it next week at my appointment but i’d like your opinions. It’s only on my ride side and it feels like it’s around my hip area. It keeps me up at night sometimes. It doesn’t go away for long periods of time sometimes but usually it goes away if I sit up. Also when I sneeze it feels like something is stabbing me. It hurts SO bad. I have no idea what this could be. I have a low lying placenta would it have anything to do with that? I have no bleeding, no fever, nothing like that. Just that shooting pain on my right side. I also have a pain on my lower stomach which I take to be ligament pain perhaps. I don’t take it as lower back pain because I have always suffered with lower back pain since I am a petite girl but big chested so I know what back pain feels like. This is all scaring me. This is my first baby so I don’t really know what to expect. Any help is appreciated.

It could be sciatica.
Its quite common in pregnancy and is caused sometimes by the baby putting pressure on your sciatic nerve (it runs from your lower back to your feet). In other cases its purely because you have caused damage to your disc in your spine- pregnant women are more prone to disc injury.

It can also lead to back ache or other discomfort. You could see a chiropractor if it gets too severe.

It can also feel like pins and needles.

Im 29 weeks and have been getting it since i was about 21 weeks, sometimes to the point where i cant walk.
