Severe lower abdominal and pelvic pain after intimacy ?

Last night while being intimate with my husband, I started to feel very uncomfortable in my lower abdomen and pelvis. We stopped and the pain became more severe, so much that I couldn’t hardly move or speak. It felt like painful muscle spasms that went all the way through my body to my back. When my husband helped me to a standing position I was able to take a few steps which helped some. I kept walking around the house until eventually the pain subsided enough for me to lay down and then eventually stopped hurting completely.

I’m willing to bet money you had an ovarian cyst rupture. I get those quite often, and the pain is incredibly severe when they rupture. Nothing to be alarmed about though.
I would book an appointment with your doctor for the next week or so – and maybe get a referral to get an ultrasound done. This way they will be able to let you know whether it was an ovarian cyst, and whether or not you have more.
