Can Stress Cause Stomach Pain?
I’m getting married this week (hooray!) I’m also 24/f, and for the past two weeks I’ve developed a myriad of stomach afflictions, from stomach cramps/pain in various areas, and constipation occassionally. I went to the doctor about it, and as soon as he heard me mention “indigestion” he put me on Prilosec. I feel a little bit better. But my body still aches basically a few parts of my stomach, and it’s hard to have correct posture. It’s more continual discomfort than “please stop this pain!” I don’t have health insurance, so that’s another reason why I don’t want to drop more $ until after the wedding to see if it’s stress related. Is this a good idea?
Definitely. The worse you stress out about it, the worse you can make your pain. I would just try to relax, and take tums or pepto bismal until you are no longer in pain. Indigestion, change in bowel irregularity and stomach pains are all symptoms of stressing out, so the more you worry about it the worse you’ll be. Try not to think about it.
