I am 13. What causes on&off stomach pain, tiredness, appetite loss, moodiness, diarrhea, or constipation??

I am 13 years old. For the past few years I have had this condition, as said above. I hae had tiredness, moodiness, cramping, horrible stomach pain, and diarrhea after the stomach aches. I have always had a little constipation, growing up, and still do. My Dad died a few years ago of colon cancer. I really want to know what is wrong, and I don’t want to end up like him. Please help. I will add any other details that I may have missed or forgotten if I remember later. Thankyou so much. This means a lot to me, and it affects my life everday, and has a great impact on how I live. Please help!!!

Wow, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like you have Crohn’s Disease. It’s a gastric disorder that I have as well. it really sucks. Go to your doctor immediately and ask about Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis (a similar disease) Cause if you don’t get it treated soon, it can be deadly.

Crohn’s disease is a form of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which involves ongoing (chronic) inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Crohn’s-related inflammation usually affects the intestines, but may occur anywhere from the mouth to the end of the rectum (anus)

The main symptoms of Crohn’s disease are:
Crampy abdominal (belly area) pain
Fever
Fatigue
Persistent, watery diarrhea

Other symptoms may include:
Abdominal fullness and gas
Clotting problems (deep vein thrombosis)
Constipation
Eye inflammation
Fistulas (usually around the rectal area, may cause draining of pus, mucus, or stools)
Gastrointestinal bleeding
Joint pain
Kidney stones
Liver inflammation
Loss of appetite
Pain with passing stool (tenesmus)
Rectal bleeding and bloody stools
Skin rash
Swollen gums
Unintentional weight loss

While the exact cause of Crohn’s disease is unknown, the condition is linked to a problem with the body’s immune system response.
Normally, the immune system helps protect the body, but with Crohn’s disease the immune system can’t tell the difference between good substances and foreign invaders. The result is an overactive immune response that leads to chronic inflammation. This is called an autoimmune disorder.
