Sinus infection, antibiotics issues?

3 weeks ago, this sinus thing started. I was given amoxcillin. I didnt take it right and missed doses and didnt finish it. So, the infection didnt go away. Could the fact that I didnt take it right not have killed the infection. Now, the doctor put me on levaquin and it is making me sick with nausea and stomach pain. If I am put back on a milder antibiotic like a penicillin again, will it be uneffective as I have taken it before?

Not necessarily but this is how infections become immune to the medicines over time because they weren’t completely killed off and the ones that survived, will over time build up and immunity to it. If the medicine is making you ill I would let doctor know because if you have severe diarrhea which you didn’t mention it can affect the absorption of the medicine and it not be beneficial to begin with.
