I take Vicodin for extreme back pain…….?

I am waiting to have a disk replacement surgery on 3 levels(even though you can only have them 2 at a time, so I guess I am waiting to have 2 surgeries) But anyway, I need to loose about 50 or so pounds to have surgery. I am in pain every day, and its only bearable with my Vicodin from my pian management Doc. I recently went to my general care Doc for my stomach hurting and he ran some blood tests and found that I have a chemical in my blood that is only released when your liver is damaged. He said its probably due to ecessive Tylenol use(Vicodin) and I need to stop taking Tylenol all together. Is there pain meds out there that do not use Tylenol or other liver harming chemicals. I cannot go too much longer with the pain that I have. If any of you know it is horrible pain.

have your Primary care Dr. fax ( or how ever they deal with it in your area) to your pain management Dr. He needs to deal with it . NOW! and should have been doing liver function tests right along.
