bloating, severe cramps left lower side of stomach??

ok so for as long as i can remember i get these really severe cramping pains in my lower left side of stomach. they also come with bloating and are really uncomfortable. it seems i feel like a build up of gas or something in my stomach too and i get constipated as well. it happens quite often, maybe once or twice a week. The pain is unbearable. i have been tested for food allergies, and all clear. has anyone had anything like this before??? my doctor first said it sounds like i suffer from constipation, but could be something else. does anyone know what tests they do to see what it could be? i have seen a horrible procedure on TV where they put a tube and camera up your bottom!! i don’t want that!! an ultrasound or something maybe??? would appreciate any info or advice you can offer! thanks

Poor little thing!! Sounds exactly like what I was experiencing until I finally worked out that I was lactose intolerant …………. none of the half dozen doctors Iwent to could work it out either ………… probably cos they’re all trained to write out prescriptions and make us pop pills!!

Try eliminating dairy from your diet and this should cut out all the gassiness, belching, bloating and wind. I know its hard, but believe me, you won’t know yourself.

Instead of dairy, increase your intake of calcium from natural sources such as almonds, nuts and seeds, broccoli, spinach, green leafy vegies and salmon and tuna. Give it at least a week and you’ll feel like a brand new gal. The problem with lactose intolerance is that because it isn’t an allergy they really don’t have any one specific test for it. The one you’ve mentioned is called a colonoscopy, which they gave me, and you really don’t want to have to have that one cos the headache it induces just before they sedate would seriously make a grown man cry!! I promise, just cut out all yoghurt, icecream, milk (try a really low fat or no fat one instead), soya products and even some lollies and candys also have lactose …….. :0)
