Does anyone know what can help cure a chronic anal fissure?

Ever since I was young I had a bowel problem, whether it was upset or actually going to the bathroom issues (hard time passing stool, , diarreha) Doctors said I had a tight rectum which caused problems with my bowel movements, but never till about 3 years ago did I start having worst symptoms and hemmroids and fissures. Was told I needed to see a surgeon for the fissure I have now, but I am afraid. I hate the thought of having to be operated on and everything, been using prep H and wipes to reduce the pain and bleeding got better a few weeks ago when I was on an antibiotic for a skin infection, but now has gotten worse again. Was hoping someone else out there might have some ideas? Thanks

Oh no, don’t be a chicken now!

Most anal fissures (properly known as fistulas) do not heal by themselves. It’s a simple matter of use: if you get a cut in your hand, you wear a bandaid until it heals, so nothing can rub against the open flesh. But you can’t isolate your rectum wall long enough for a fissure to heal; because if you don’t have a bowel movement in a while, well, um, you die.

You absolutely have to go through surgery. Don’t believe in magic treatments. It’s either a few minutes on the operating table or a life of painful bowel movements.
