upper right stomach pain running
Bad pain in my right side?
For 3 days I’ve been having pain in my right side ranging from mildly annoying to excruciating. It starts where my appendix is located and runs up my side, through my ribs and into my upper back and shoulder blade. I’ve taken 600 mg of motrin and it did nothing to help with the pain. The pain is worse when breathing and moving from laying on my stomach or my back to a different position. I went to the doctor today and they did a urinalysis, took blood and did x-rays and everything came back normal. I was diagnosed with mittelschmerz (mid-cycle pain), but this doesn’t seem to explain the pain in my ribs and back. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Oh, and I’m 16, and there hasn’t been any trauma to my ribs/abdomen/back at all.
Mid cycle pain? Glad you are on the net looking for answers for I would have trouble with that one as well. Your pains are caused by tight muscles in your back and as they run the length of your back you can put pressure on different part to make that area give more pain than the other areas to feel it there. Back muscles often send the pains around the body on the nerves to cause pains in your rib, chest or heart areas. To get rid of this pain you have to free up your back muscles and here’s how to do that:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
