Pain/gas after hiccups/?

I had a pretty bad case of the hiccups the other day, and since then I’ve been having pain while swallowing, and sometimes even breathing in too hard. I’m hoping that this is just caused by the hiccups and I just kindof bruised my insides a little bit. When I eat, it kindof hurts going down, and unlike normally, I can feel it going all the way down my throat/esophagus in my epigastric region. What might it be? it also feels like there’s gas trapped in my stomach like when I have to burp that I can’t get out!

Pockets of gas cause hiccups, so the hiccups you had were probably another symptom and not the cause of your gas or other pains. It’s possible that you’re also having some heartburn or acid reflux. Did you eat something very spicy or something you weren’t used to having?
