Abdominal Burning and Pain – Crystal Light?
I have been drinking crystal light for about 3 weeks in place of water. About three days ago I experienced a severe burning sensation in my abdomen, so I took antacids expecting to feel better. The burning worsened and antacids are not helping.
This morning after taking a swig of crystal light, the burning and pain worsened immediately. I plan on going to the doctor if the pain does not subside in a few days but I was wondering if it could be the aspartame in the crystal light that is irritating me. I stopped drinking it this morning so for now I am just waiting, but the pain has not subsided much.
Opinions?
I suspect it’s the citric acid more then anything else. Ulcers do heal themselves so lay off the citric acid for a few weeks then you can go back to normal.
