Stomach cramps 6 weeks pregnant?

I am 6 weeks pregnant today and have been having a fair few cramps.. They are just generalized lower feel like period and have not had any bleeding..
This is baby number two and only my second pregnancy and I don’t remember ever having this with my first..
Should I be worried? I am so scared being in the first trimester!! Is it normal?
Also does anyone know how early doctors can hear the heart beat?

It’s called round ligament pain. It can be dull aching period like cramps (uterus stretching) to sharp shooting pains on either or both sides of the uterus (about 2 1/2 inches from either side of the belly button). The pains can shoot down to your vagina. It’s very uncomfortable but completely normal. 95% of pregnancies have this. You should not bleed in any amount although some mucous like discharge can happen and be tinged pink with blood vessels that form in the bottom of the mucous plug. You can lose your mucous plug many times over your pregnancy and it always regrows. If you feel at all unease about it still, call your doctor and they can examine you, but will most likely tell you it’s normal and ok. You can take one regular strength tylenol (avoid advil or ibuprofen as they can lead to miscarriage and complications).
