acute abdominal pain long term
Whats a treatement for acute – short duration – abdominal pain – during and post intercourse – for female.?
From internet, I found that, this problem is pretty much prevalent in females as much as nearly 10- 15% of them have faced for either long term or short term in their lives. Also that the reasons could include psychological or physical.
Pls. assume that the patient can not actually have an access to a good gynac. (which is the fact)
So pls. advise the solution which I could pass on to her and she herself can make use of. Typically those females who have already suffered / recovered this trouble or their spouses can be best suitable to answer this question.. Thanks.
Help is urgently sought…… Thx.
A qualified medical professional view will be a huge relief ……. and will benefit a great deal of yahoo answer audience. Thx.

Hi,
As for the acute pain, I would suggest a few things:
1) A heating pad or warm compress on the lower abdomen. This helps circulation and pain in that area especially.
2) Tylenol. Might help.
3) A warm bath. Soak in it for a while. If there is any irritation in the vaginal opening itself, a sitz bath is recommended. This is basically a normal bath, but the woman suspends herself on all fours or squats in the bath so that just her vagina is submerged. This is often recommended for UTI pain.
Other than that, I’d just try to get comfortable.
As for the long term–she should figure out what is causing the problem. If it is a recurring pain, then there could be several causes that may or may not be easily fixed.
Vaginal infections (including UTIs) can cause pain during and after intercourse. Lack of lubrication can cause lasting pain as well. Other causes could be ovarian cysts, endometriosis, latex allergy (if using condom), spermicide allergy (if using spermicide), or possibly something more serious. Hormone imbalances or lack of hormone production can cause pain, as well as recurrent infections (such as UTIs, yeast infections, or bacterial vaginitis). The only other obvious thing I can think of is if her partner is being too rough or penetrating her too quickly. Many women do need to be aroused before they can be penetrated. Sometimes even using a lubricant can be painful because the inside of the vagina is not lubricated enough. When women are aroused they will produce natural lubricants, but this may take up to 30 minutes of foreplay for many women, especially as we get older. And although it sounds silly, I have come across women who have had to break up with boyfriends because their penises were too large and caused very uncomfortable and painful intercourse.
If it’s worth it to her to find a solution, I would definitely try and see an OB gyn eventually. I know it’s not easy to find cheap healthcare, but there are a lot of low-income, sliding scale, and even free healthcare in this country. I’m not sure where she lives but you might want to try a Google search for a local Free Clinic (we have three in Los Angeles) or some sort of family clinic or county-funded hospital. There can be much more serious issues going on, which I won’t go into.
Good luck!!!!!!
