Baby crying suddenly?

I have a 7 month old son who is almost always happy. Just a few minutes ago i was feeding him his baby food (which he loves) and all of a sudden he jerked away and started screaming.. he’s never done this before. I took him out of the high chair and changed his diaper and he continued to jerk and scream like in pain.. he is now sleeping but he has woken a couple of time doing the same thing. Can anyone explain why or what may be happening? Ear ache? abdominal pain?

My guess would be gas pains, or maybe he needs to have a bowel movement. Try giving him some Mylicon drops and massaging his tummy.

This may be a one-time thing. However, in the event it happens again, I would consider mentioning it to the pediatrician. Also maybe try to record the circumstances of when it happens so you can determine if there is any pattern.

I know it is upsetting to watch them cry when you don’t know what’s wrong. I hope your little one feels better soon. Good luck.
