abdominal pain valium
Is it ok to take a 40 mg of vailum?
I had a huge surgery in my belly and this is my second time since the surgery this month having abdominal pain as well as a tooth pulled and replace with a cap for a bridge soon. So I’m basically hurting all over, today at my doctors apt he recommended 2 Valium & 1 vicodeine for my belly. But chose against the because vicodine it keeps me up. I don’t know what else to take but need some rest and have-not slept well for 3 nights because of all the pain.

Absolutely not! That is a HUGE dose.
You did not say what strength the Valium tablets are, but I am guessing you have the 5mg ones. If your doctor suggested you take 2 (10mg), then by all means do that. It is a very decent dose of sedative, and will give you the much needed rest. It probably will also negate the effects of the Vicodin, so I suggest you take that as well, as suggested by your doctor.
Pain interfered with sleep, as you said, and both pain and lack of sleep will interfere with healing, as well as affecting your mental state. The body heals itself the best when it can rest in a pain free state.
If you really don’t want to take the Vicodin, you can take some ibuprofen and acetaminophen. The former will help with the swelling and inflammation caused by the surgery, and the latter will give you some pain relief.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
