upper abdominal pain weight gain
Have I necessarily lost my muscle?
I used to be a large built, average-muscled guy. That’s to say, I did have definition over my body. Since Christmas, I put on a lot of upper body fat (not something I’m going to stand here justifying).
My coach took one look at my significantly more flabby stomach, and set me to do crunches and sit-ups. But to be entirely honest, I had expected a lot of cardio pain.
I thought crucnches and situps (as far as body-weight exercises go) were for building my abs. before putting on abdominal fat, I had abs…so isn’t the solution just to lose the fat? Or will my muscle mass potentially have also decreased.
In addition, will situps and crunches bring back the definition, or will I have to add some cardio in as well (cardio for me is running).
Just in case this matters, my weight gain is due to inactivity and stress, not actually eating lots of fatty food.
Thanks
The solution is to lose fat while doing situps and etc. It wouldn’t look great if you just lose fat, it would define your abs. Add cardio and fewer sit ups, Weight lifting would be better. Since when you lift weight, burning fat would be faster. Fats burn in oxygen so you need to exercise and weight lift. Trust me, weight lifting loses weight. And eat healthy, avoid JUNK food. Eat small meals every 2 hours with plenty of water and fruits and vegetables before heavy meals.
CONLUSION:
You will be starting to lose muscle if you dont keep up with your workout.
Keep motivated, its worth it.
