abdominal pain muscular
what is lower back & abdominal pain?
For 3 days I have had lower back pain which is making me feel a bit sick; I thought it was sciatic-type due to back problems, but I also have “toothache”-type pain in lower abdomen as well; it is quite painful when I move certain ways which makes me think it’s muscular, almost right round my waist, but the lower abdominal pain along with it makes me wonder what else it could be? In my 50s and no period for 2 years, can anyone advise?
You don’t say what activities you did leading up to the pain. Try thinking back to what you might have done for 2-3 weeks prior to the onset of the discomfort to see if you can avoid repeating the activity. It sounds like it’s muscle or other tissue in the low back or hips that’s become strained or inflamed. Have you tried over-the-counter anti-inflammatories like Aleve or herbal ones such as Curamin? Excessive sitting is not good for the low back because we carry much more weight on the spine while seated than while standing or lying down, so consider avoiding it or standing and stretching every 45 minutes or so. Be conservative with your activities for a while and seek professional assistance if the pain persists or worsens. Good Luck!
