severe abdominal pain cramping
Has anyone had severe lower abdominal cramping?
It comes in waves. I’m not vomiting, no fever, and not nauseous. One minute I’m fine and the next I’m doubled over with pain. The severe pains only started about 3 days ago, but I’ve had bowel problems for over a week now. Any one else with this?
I’m really thinking this is something going around because my husband now has the same symptoms I had when I first started having problems. And the bad thing is we are travelling and heading home but we’re still about 1,000 miles from home.
What kind of bowel problems have you had? Constipation? Diarrhea? Both? It could be anything from gastroenteritis, to another kind of bowel infection, food poisoning, or just IBS. Since you’re having severe pain, I’d get yourself checked out at the doctor. The fact that you’ve had no nausea/vomiting or fever is a good sign, though. Still, I’d see a doctor soon, and if you aren’t satisfied with their inspection of the problem ask to be referred to a Gastroenterologist.
If the pains get worse, or you develop fever or any other symptoms, then I’d get to the E.R.
