abdominal pain flight
How do you handle those long distance emergencies with your kids?
I’m sitting here waiting for someone to call me to tell me how my daughter is. She called about 45 minutes ago as she was waiting for the ambulance to arrive. She was feverish with right side abdominal pain and vomiting. I stayed on the phone with her until the paramedics arrived, but now it’s like torture waiting to hear back from her. I can’t get a flight out today and don’t know what hospital they’re taking her to. I’m on the computer to calm myself down. What else can I do at this point?
Thanks to all for your great ideas. I knew I could rely on my senior friends for help.
After several phone calls, I found her. She was being seen by a doctor, and they said that she’s doing OK. Could be a kidney stone, but they don’t know yet. I couldn’t believe how many hospitals there are in NYC!
Meditation.
You should go on and make flight arrangements, and maybe pack your luggage, in anticipation of flying out tomorrow.
You can also try – on the computer – to locate the different hospitals in her area. Use Google Map. With that tool, you can get the phone numbers of the hospitals. Call each up. They’re not going to tell you her condition or anything, but they can tell you whether or not she has been admitted.
