abdominal pain gas bloating
Help! Abdominal Pain!?
Ok so heres a little background.
I have been having chronic abdominal pain for about 6 months. I went to the GI and he thinks I have IBS.
I would agree.
So I went and got some miralax because I had not had a bowel movement for two weeks. I took it for 3 days and nothing happened. I decided to up the dose and take it twice a day. I did that for 2 days and then stopped. I stopped because I started to have thin watery bowel movements and a lot of bloating and gas.
This has been going on for 2 days now. I am able to eat and do not feel sick.
Tonight my stomach was EXTREMELY bloated and I was very gassy and uncomfortable. I took some gas-x and it helped for a bit. Now all of a sudden my stomach is killing me all over. I have had to rush to the bathroom twice now and had two small watery bowel movements.
My question is is this all from the miralax? or should I be concerned…
Please help me. I am in so much pain right now.
It sounds to me that it is a reaction based on taking more than the recommended dose. However, if this doesn’t stop in a few hours (give it about 4 hours), then head to an emergency room or to your doctor’s office if they have Sunday hours. It is possible that the double doses may have harmed your system to the point of needing some serious medical attention.
Also, have your GI look in to Celiac Disease/Celiac Sprue Disorder. Many of your issues may be caused by a gluten intolerance! I have the disease and it is a lot more common than originally thought.
