chronic abdominal pain clinic
Chronic Abdominal Pain My Doc Says he can’t help. Does anyone know of a good doc in Indianapolis who can help
I have had 4 surgeries and every other test imaginable. He was giving me Lortabs for 4 months now and I only take 2 or 3 a day. He cut me off 2 weeks ago and suggested I find a second opinion since he is stumped. They have removed my appendix, gallbladder and went back in to remove the stump from my appendix. I have been to pain clinics and have had the shots. But the painkillers are the only thing that helps. He is afraid I will become addicted. The only option he says he has left is to do open surgery but is afraid because of complications from my last 2 surgeries. my weight is a factor (385) and poor lungs do not help. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am very frustrated. I am not a drug addict, but I feal I am treated as one when I talk to other doctors.
Have you ever been tested for sprue (not the tropical kind)? It’s an allergy to wheat that 1 in 133 people of Irish or German descent have. It can cause all kinds of abdominal symptoms and even chronic fatigue! Do a Yahoo search for “Celiac Disease” and you’ll find a ton of websites with info and support. And all you have to do to cure it is stop eating all wheat and gluten products (not as easy as it sounds!)
